All ACE courses follow Arista’s philosophy that high quality training should be available to everyone in a format and price point that best fits their needs. Arista ACE Level Training and other vendor training do not match directly. Non-ACE training and certifications should be carefully reviewed to ensure any skill gaps are identified and covered prior to commencing the ACE Level Training course.

For this reason, a self-study option is available for purchase to cover specific topics which are needed but may not be covered within the desired course.

ACE:L1 is a 5-day course providing foundational networking knowledge and skills from a modern perspective in Arista's EOS networking environment. Candidates progress through networking fundamental topics ranging from Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Routing & Switching to network design, based on modern Leaf-Spine architecture used in today’s Enterprise Data Center and Campus networks. Candidates are also introduced to network automation with Arista’s CloudVision solution.

Who Is It For:

ACE:L1 is best suited for individuals entering the network engineering field and looking to acquire the essential knowledge and skills applied to modern network infrastructure.

Arista Cloud Engineer

ACE:L2 is a 5-day course that expands on ACE:L1, focusing on features and skills used daily within the Arista customer network. Candidates will be exposed to the Arista Universal Cloud Network (UCN) model for Layer 2 Leaf-Spine topologies, leveraging Multi-chassis Link Aggregation (MLAG) and Virtual-ARP (VARP). This architecture is then presented in the context of the Arista Campus Network, and will introduce Arista's WiFi and campus specific features such as Power over Ethernet (PoE). All topics taught in this course are skills utilized in running an Arista network.

Who Is It For:

ACE:L2 is best suited for individuals with, at a minimum, mid-level experience in the networking field and are looking to acquire core skills required to operate Arista networks. It is beneficial to individuals with goals aimed at increasing relevance with modern network architectures.

ACE:L3 is a 5-day course that is designed around Arista’s data-driven Cloud network architectures. Candidates will master core technologies found in most modern corporate networks today such as MultiProtocol Border Gateway Protocol (MP-BGP), Exterior BGP (eBGP) underlays, Ethernet Virtual Private Networks (EVPN), and Virtual Extensible LAN protocol (VXLAN). Additional topics include security, QoS, multicast, and Cognitive Campus.

Who Is It For:

ACE:L3 is best suited for individuals with mid-to-senior level experience in the networking field with advanced Layer 2 and 3 technologies and configurations. Engineers and operations staff will find the skills covered in this course to often be sought after by modern-day, technology-oriented corporations.

Arista Cloud Engineer

ACE:L4 is a 5-day course focused on the Enterprise edge, Service Provider WAN and Large Enterprise Transport networks. Candidates will explore the advanced routing capabilities available within Arista hardware and EOS. Topics such as EVPN, MPLS and Segment Routing will be discussed in depth. All topics are taught from both command line and CloudVision perspectives, including provisioning, managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing.

Who Is It For:

ACE:L4 is best suited for individuals with at least a mid-level network engineering background, and are comfortable with layer 2 and 3 architectures and concepts such as EVPN and MP-BGP. This course is suitable for candidates who are in, or would like to find, mid-to-senior level network engineer or operation positions related to enterprise edge networking.

ACE:L5 is a 5-day course designed to give network engineers, architects, and operations staff the needed skills, tools, and strategies to automate the Arista network infrastructure. This course focuses on CloudVision automation leveraging Ansible, Python, and other commonly used automation languages. Extensive practical workshops are used to solidify discussion concepts.

Who Is It For:

ACE:L5 is most effective for individuals with mid-to-high level experience as network engineers with prior exposure to Python and Ansible Basics. This course is suitable for engineers looking to progress into mid or upper level operations positions within modern, technology-oriented organizations.

Arista Cloud Engineer, CVP Specialist

ACE:CVP Specialist is a 3-day course which will establish sound understanding and technical proficiency required to deploy, operate, and manage CVP for a Leaf-Spine network. This course explores how CVP is used as a turnkey solution for network-wide workload orchestration, workflow automation, and real-time visibility into network operations. Extensive hands-on tasks are used with CloudVision, Ansible and Python to demonstrate advanced widgets and change control workflows for Data Center Day 1 & 2 Operations. In addition, you will examine advanced automation and optimization using CloudVision Studios.

Who Is It For:

ACE:CVP Specialist is best suited for engineers with at least mid-level networking experience and who have previous exposure to the basics of Python and Ansible and who are in network management and automation positions, or are looking to progress into these positions.

ACE:DMF Specialist is a 3-day course designed to establish sound understanding and technical proficiency required to deploy and operate the DANZ Monitoring Fabric, a next-generation network packet broker (NPB). This course demonstrates why telemetry, monitoring, and visibility are crucial for your networks, and explores how DMF enables pervasive network observability by providing real-time and historical insights into your physical, virtual, and container environments.

Who Is It For:

ACE:DMF Specialist is suitable for engineers with at least mid-level networking experience and are comfortable with basic networking technologies and configurations. It is best suited for candidates who are in network monitoring positions, or are looking to progress into these positions.

ACE:NDR Specialist

Arista Cloud Engineer, Network Detection and Response

ACE:NDR is a 2-day course designed to show current challenges security architects face with new and emerging threats and attacks. Malicious activities can be performed by individuals who have administrative access to systems and information using encryption to further compromise networks. These behaviors can be difficult for other tools to identify; Arista NDR looks at network traffic to determine behaviors, and uses AI and ML techniques to identify this suspected malicious behavior. Course candidates will gain a better understanding of challenges faced by legacy protection mechanisms and how Arista’s NDR adds additional information and understanding about network traffic. Candidates will use Arista’s NDR to see the behavior of network traffic and learn how to use the tools to enhance their threat hunting abilities.

Who Is It For:

The Arista NDR course is best suited for individuals with mid-to-senior level experience in network and/or security operations. It is intended for security engineers who manage the security posture of their environment and/or network engineers who are looking to gain a better understanding of malicious behavior on the network. While the expectation is that candidates will be part of medium to large environments, any size of organization will be able to gain a better understanding of network traffic and use the tools to better identify potential threats.

ACE:Campus is a 5-day course designed to show how wired and wireless (WiFi) networks are deployed using Arista components and management tools. This course expands on a candidate’s general knowledge, including how the Arista Cognitive Campus Network (CCN) can incorporate WiFi capabilities and, implementing and configuring a WiFi network using Arista CloudVision Portal (CVP) and CloudVision WiFi (CVW). Candidates will also use CVW to gain better visibility into WiFi Access Points (APs), WiFi clients, and applications running across the wireless network.

Who Is It For:

ACE:Campus course is best suited for individuals with mid-to-senior level experience in the wireless networking field. It is intended for designers responsible for planning networks from single sites to large campuses that meet current and future organizational requirements.

CORE Methodology

  • CORE assures individuals and teams that they command the skills and experience the industry desires. CORE recognizes knowledge gained from a course and verifies proficiency in the subject matter, ultimately confirming the learning experience.
  • Why CORE? For too long, multiple-choice exams have been the industry norm to test and rank basic competence. A prevalent problem with this approach is that answers may simply be memorized.
  • Real-World Simulations: Arista’s CORE approach assesses your understanding through practical evaluations and verification for all courses.

CORE Renewals

  • Arista encourages certified individuals to remain current through a unique renewal program, without retesting. Instead, this program is based on a point system, challenging individuals to earn points through various learning tools available and actively participating within the Arista community.
  • Arista Training is driven to follow our guiding principles at Arista which is quality, quality, quality. With this in mind, we have decided to postpone our CORE renewal program until Q1 2023 to ensure we can bring the best possible model to market for our customers.

If you have received an ACE certification between the dates of Jun 1, 2021 and Dec 31, 2022, you will be exempt from renewal until Dec 31 2023.
